Tandoori Chicken
Tandoori chicken is one of the most famous Indian foods which is admired by people the world over. This barbecued food originated in India and known for its different cooking pattern and taste as well. Traditionally it is baked in a large clay oven but it can be prepared at home on grill oven. The chicken is marinated in yogurt and seasoned with garam masala, garlic, ginger, cumin, cayenne pepper, and other spices and then grilled. It is served with nan (Indian bread), green salad and spicy green chutney.
Butter Chicken
Butter chicken is another popular Indian food which is loved for its palatable gravy and spicy aroma. This dish is among the best known Indian foods all over the world. The gravy is made with yogurt, garlic, paste, ginger paste and many spices like, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom seeds and chicken stock. The gravy can be made as hot or mild as per your taste so it suits most palates. It can be served with rice, nan, or other Indian breads and salads.
Egg Curry
Egg curry originated in North India and cooked with many different recipes. This curry dish is less spicy but very tasty. Hard boiled eggs are dipped in finely made curry which is made with onion, tomatoes and varied spices. The common spices used for curry include garlic, ginger, green chillies, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. In some recipes potatoes are also used but they are optional. Thus you can make egg curry in different styles by adding different ingredients. It can be served with a vegetable as side dish or with rice or Indian breads.
Hyderabadi biryani
Hyderabadi Biryani is the most popular non-vegetarian rice dish of the Hyderabadi cuisine. This rich delectable dish belongs to the mughlai food art and eaten savorly in all parts of India. It is made with boneless mutton, Basmati rice, spices, nuts, and dry fruits. Mutton is cut into small pieces and marinated with ginger garlic paste and kept aside for an hour. All the spices, nuts and onions are fried separately and mixed with the marinated meat. The rice are coked into different pan, when half cooked they are removed from heat and water is drained. These half cooked rice are spread over marinated meat in a layer, upon which limejuice, saffron color, ghee and crushed fried onions are spread. The utensil is covered again and biryani is cooked on a very low flame until done.
Fried Fish
Fried fish is one of the most popular non-vegetarian dishes of India. This Punjabi quick fish recipe is wonderful as an appetizer or as a side dish to complement the main course. Boneless fish pieces are dipped into gram flour, vinegar and salt and kept aside for few minutes. These pieces are then washed and dipped again in vinegar. Then these pieces are pat dried. Other spices like, garlic paste, ginger paste, garam masala, lemon juice, red chilli powder, thymol seeds, curd and beaten eggs are mixed and pieces are marinated in this mixture. Marinated pieces are then deep fried till become golden brown. Garnished with lemon wedges fried fish can be taken as appetizer or side dish.
